Technical Bid Engineer

Key Purpose:
• Responsible for coordinating the activities required to develop the technical product offering in support of a commercial tender.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Support business Bid-No Bid decisions
• Establish a tendering schedule with key functions
• Kick-off the technical project with the nominated engineering team and supply chain
• Lead development of the Bill of Material, material specifications, process specifications and component definition for manufacture.
• Review the Customer RFP and create a technical deviation report that highlights recommended assumptions, exceptions and clarifications for inclusion in the final commercial tender.
• Create an engineering cost estimate using historical projects, standard cost models, and input from each engineering discipline
• Support supply chain sourcing efforts to assess supplier capability cost to optimize the value chain and respond to supplier product definition inquiries
• Responsive to emergent need part requests during outage execution.
• Establish product qualification timelines for new supplier/product manufacture
• Lead the technical offer review prior to final bid submission
• Participate in commercial risk review
• Re-flow findings and experience back into the tendering function by development and enhancement of standards
