Senior MEP Engineer - United Development Company

Role Objective:

The Senior MEP Manager shall be responsible for the all processes and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing facilities within the Pearl Qatar and ensure that they met all local and international standards in order to support the mission and vision of UDC.

Key Accountabilities:

• Oversees the Operation and Maintenance of the Seawater Reverse Osmosis Desalination Plant (35000m3/d Capacity) and ensures produced water complies with local and international standards.
• Oversees Operation and Maintenance of 16 operating pumping stations for potable water, irrigation water, sewage water and storm water
• Manages the Operation and Maintenance of 46 water features in The Pearl Qatar and implements upgrading of the water features where applicable
• Manages five irrigation lakes and floating fountains in the lakes and ensures the lake water quality is maintained in compliance with local and international irrigation water standards. Involved in the upgrading as well as cleaning of all lakes
• Manages the Operation and Maintenance of the 5000m3/d sewage treatment plant. Also enforces cost saving to UDC by expediting early supply of treated sewage effluent from Lusail by Ashghal for irrigation application in The Pearl Qatar
• Involved in water reconciliation in The Pearl Qatar to ensure reduction of the unaccounted-for water volumes
• Develop maintenance and plan outage schedules and implements them as part of the maintenance planning process, so as to ensure coordination with all stakeholders and users
• Develop, manages, supervises and coordinates the planning, execution and implementation of the asset management strategy within the IWMS solution.
• Develop, implements and manages engineering contracts and identifies variance with respect to scope of work to ensure the company's requirements are met for all MEP works
• Reviews engineering systems to ensure compliance with both industry best practice and international standards on an ongoing basis.
• Provides direction to Operations Facilitators in the implementation and execution of activities related to MEP systems
• Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the MEP infrastructure and services, to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service and a responsible environmental attitude
• Assists, develops and establishes an asset maintenance strategy for all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) plant and equipment and supervises the implementation of the maintenance planning function to ensure that deliverables are accomplished efficiently, in the most productive and cost-effective manner
• Main point of contact for all MEP engineering related activities involving operations and maintenance activities.
• Management of the 26000 water and electric meters in The Pearl Qatar in coordination with Kahramaa.
• Receive Kahramaa bills to UDC for water and electricity, review them and take corrective action if the billed amount is found to be based on estimates instead of actual reading
• Resolve metering issues with all tenants and retailers such as high billing, defective meters, non reading meters, meter indicating alarm condition, etc
• Transmission of monthly readings to Kahramaa of meters in The Pearl Qatar for water and electricity
• Providing Annual Budget for all Utilties and projects at hand
