• Formulating and suggesting the overall procurement and logistics strategies, policies and procedures for UCC contracting division.
• Deriving and developing medium and short-term plans and programs to manage and achieve the anticipated goals.
• Monitoring the procurement & logistics department performance (Managerial and financial) against pre-set performance goals and ensure that preventive corrective actions are taken accordingly.
• Making decisions regarding the proper method of procurement & logistics for all approved goods and materials requisitions (formal bid, informal quotation, or direct purchase) in accordance with the state guidelines currently in effect. Managing, reviewing, and approving all UCC contracting divisions procurement agreements in accordance with UCC standards to achieve the company best interest.
• Periodically evaluating procurement agreements and suppliers objectively in terms of performance, commitment and adherence to the set terms and conditions. etc, and accordingly decide whether to renew agreements or search for new sources and suppliers.
• Ensuring that all functions are provided with their purchase requirements based on required specification and quantities in an efficient and timely manner.
• Following up with suppliers regarding the delivery of suppliers and building mutual relations with them.
• Managing UCC contracting divisions purchase orders in a sufficient way and try to benefit from any special conditions such as offers, discounts etc, for the interest of the company.
• Managing and supervising the communications with suppliers in case of damage or shortage in the received orders.
• Recommending continuous improvement initiatives for procurement & logistics methodologies and taking necessary actions to implement the best practices that suit UCC business.
• Directing and monitoring UCC contracting divisions logistic and warehousing operations and activates for their smooth conduct and running.
• Periodically checking various transactions and system data entries for their correctness and accuracy.
• Supervising and monitoring annual physical verification for materials through proper and satisfactory completion.
• Continuously looking and searching for new suppliers with better supplies, services and agreement, terms and conditions etc.
• Developing and maintaining proactive relationship with current and prospective suppliers. Conducting periodic meetings with subordinates within the procurement department to ensure that priorities are clear, and the workflow is running smoothly.
• Conducting performance appraisal for subordinates according to scheduled plans and recommending necessary actions as per the applied practices.
• Recommending training needs of subordinates and evaluating the outcomes of training courses in coordination with the concerned human resources personnel.
