HSE Officer
is employed by the company to monitor, maintain and protect health and safety standards in accordance with current legislation. A large amount of time is spent in visiting construction sites, etc, where premises, equipment and procedures are checked for compliance with health and safety legislation.

TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES:


STRATEGIC:
• Compliance and Enforcement of all Health, Safety and Environmental Issues,
• OSHA compliance, record-keeping, preparation.
• Project and Field Reports Audits.
• Contractors Audits and Compliance with KC and industry Standards.
• Equipment emission permits and reports and breathing air quality records.
• Documentation, Tracking, Statistics and Reporting.
• OSHA compliance, record-keeping, preparation.
Risk Management.
• Near Miss/Hazard/Observation Reports
• A system is in place for reporting, investigating, analyzing and documenting all HSE incidents, regulatory compliance incidents, and significant near misses.
• Establish a process to verify that corrective action, as a result of incident investigations are documented and implemented.
• Accident/Incident Reports and Corrective actions.
• The main purpose of all incident and near miss investigations is to prevent a similar recurrence.
• Assist in preparing Post accident/incident Root-Cause Analysis.
• Report findings are analyzed for root causes and to ascertain where improvements to practices, standards, procedures, or systems are warranted; and used as a basis for further improvements.
• Corporate Safety Meetings for all hands, and other communications to keep Safety Marshalls updated and informed of changes related to HSE.
• Emissions forms/reports to clients.


OPERATIONAL:
• Conducts periodic environmental, health and safety audits in all allocated KC sites/facilities. - Plans and promotes safety programs. Maintains knowledge of all applicable OSHA, EPA and DOT standards and administrative practices as they may relate to KC environment.
• Works with HSE Manager to promote and provide safety expertise and in the development and presentation of safety training materials. Performs or assists with accident investigations as needed.
• Insures that processes take necessary corrective action to prevent future incidents. Communicates recommendations to all concerned parties promptly.
• Coordinates and conducts work area assessment, surveys and program evaluations to determine the presence of hazardous conditions, such as noise exposure, chemical exposure, indoor air quality, light levels, confined space and ventilation in paint booths.
• Assists departments with specific training needs by locating and scheduling outside training activities.


OTHER TASKS AS Assigned Responsibilities include other duties as assigned; including special tasks involved in responding during urgent working situation.
