• Review work and assist in managing tax team for services related to VAT advisory, implementation, training, registration, and compliance.
• Potentially for the right candidate manage and lead VAT operations in Bahrain and build out of VAT advisory with support to the Dubai team.
• Be the technical lead for the team on all VAT related questions and review the team’s outputs.
• Provide internal support to the team structure ensuring distribution of task, review of opinions, project management with tax and finance teams
• Assist and advise SME and larger clients on the introduction and implementation of VAT in the GCC and wider Middle East region.
• Identify, document, and recommend client business requirements for VAT compliance (filing) and lead. implementation of processes and systems.
• Assist in building out VAT compliance advisory function for SME and sector specific larger clients
• Manage the client database and assignment of clients to tax and finance team.
• Take on direct Project Management and Advisory assignments for clients.
• Support Head of Tax for business development and prepare VAT implementation roadmap.
• Develop relationships with government authorities.
• Prepare VAT training presentations aimed at external (SME’s) and internal audiences.
• Develop and mentor new staff and find way to automate processes internally and for clients.
• Meet new clients and provide advisory opinions during structuring phase of company set up.
• Provide support in order to minimise tax risks associated with international business operations and dealings.
• Audit internal controls for accuracy of tax compliance.
• Assist and develop tax department KPIs, as well as cross functional initiatives.
• Assist in creating strategy for expansion of service lines, as well as geographical expansion of our services to the other GCC countries or other areas around the globe.
• Assist with developing partnerships with other firms, in order to receive clients for all of our services.
• Be an active member of the senior management team and provide strategic value through your inputs.
• Attend and speak at seminars, to represent the company, at times after normal working hours.
• Perform any other duty required to ensure the successful functioning of the business and department
