OPERATIONAL
► Conduct supervision responsibilities in adherence to guidelines as indicated in the PACE Supervision Manual; ensure that supervision guidelines are being adhered to by site Quantity Surveyors at all times
► Maintain good interpersonal relationships between all parties (e.g. PACE architects and engineers, Contractors, Client Representatives etc.) involved in on site construction activities
► Review and understand all contract documents (drawings, shop drawings, composite coordinate service shop drawings, specifications etc.) before construction commences
► Study the contractor’s CCS schedule thoroughly (e.g. shop drawing submittal log, procurement schedule, and material submittal log etc.) prior to its approval by the Resident Engineer
► Check all components and materials submitted by contractors; ensure compliance against ministerial requirements and technical specifications document as contracted
► Inspect all procured components and materials to ensure compliance against ministerial requirements and specifications document
► Ensure that all components and materials on site are being adequately stored and protected in order to avoid damage of components and materials prior to their installation
► Ensure that non compliance to the CCS is communicated to the Contract Administrator/Resident Engineer on a timely basis in order to avoid any delays in construction
► Assist in resolving any issues raised by contractors (e.g. requirements for time extensions, change order requests, variations etc); coordinate with onsite architects and engineers in order to make recommendations to the Contract Administrator/Resident Engineer on any discrepancies identified against contract documents
► Coordinate with on site engineers and architects in order to prepare project progress reports for the clients
► Manage payments to contractors by clients; value and verify costs based on construction progress in order to finalize monthly payment certificates
► Validate and certify progress claims from contractors
► Evaluate all variation orders submitted by contractors by preparing cost estimates on variation orders
► Ensure the validity of onsite insurance; inform contractors about the expiry of insurance one month prior to their expiration
► Monitor the expiry of project related documents such as Guarantees, Performance Bond etc and ensure their renewal through instructions to the contractor
► Assist in maintaining on site quality control (e.g. through ensuring thorough testing of materials and verifying of materials, adequate storage of materials and protection of installed systems etc.)
► Contribute to managing the health and safety of all on-site personnel; report any observed safety violations to the Resident Engineer and/or Safety Inspector (if available)
► Attend meetings (e.g. progress meetings, coordination and specially called meetings etc.) as and when required
► Prepare final account statement in order to record actual project costs
