Job Description

The professional will be reporting directly to the Managing Director and a dotted line reporting to the Group Concern Controller. He/she will be responsible for partnering with the plant, finance and sales team to manage and improve the performance in line with the business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leads the financial staff at the plant
  • Accountability for general accounting, payables, order entry, billing, cost accounting, bill of materials, business analysis, financial reporting, sales analyses and computer operations
  • Responsible for internal controls at the company for operations, sales and finance
  • Ensuring timely preparation and in-depth analyses of monthly reports of results, quarterly forecasts, annual Budget, and strategic planning
  • Responsible for ICT, local IT environment and ERP
  • Ensuring that assets are adequately safeguarded
  • Liaison with the Corporate financial staff
  • Drive business performance and process improvement initiatives
  • Developing, introducing and maintaining effective management and control tools
  • Perform frequent walkthroughs of the plant with Management to discuss production and costing, review labour reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels etc.
  • Conduct meetings with manufacturing, finance and sales management to discuss all plant issues
  • Ensuring that actions for improving the internal organisation and reporting are successfully implemented
  • Responsible for compliance, corporate governance rules (Bribery act etc.) and accounting standards (IFRS and local requirements where applicable)
  • Responsible for managing relationships with external auditors, financial institutions / banks

The Successful Applicant

The candidate must have:
  • A Master's Degree in Finance or Accounting, or comparable Professional finance/accounting qualification
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 year's experience as a site controller or a cost manager in an international manufacturing environment, managing staff, with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and involved in the commercial business environment
  • Proven finance experience in a comparable position in the Middle East market
  • Must come from manufacturing background where they have actively been executing cost accounting and driving improvements
  • Western qualified candidates with hands on accounting operations preferred
  • Strong analytic skills, decision making capabilities and knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting principles, tax and treasury accounting
  • Good presentation and strong interpersonal skills as an effective cross-functional communicator
  • The ability to contribute ideas to address business issues and take an initiative, guide and influence others toward goal achievement
  • IT skills and experience with MS Dynamics ERP desirable along with strong excel skills
