Workshop Manager

- Set safety Standards for all activities related to  CHE & Guide staff to follow.
- Leads and manages employees and sets priorities to ensure task completion, Works independently within defined boundaries and guidelines in specific area.
- Responsible for managing & leading CHE equipment’s.
- Provides input for effective maintenance and repair of all equipment including first line Root Cause Analysis of equipment failures
- Ensures that the equipment is maintained in a safe and in reliable working condition in accordance with planned preventive maintenance program and identifies and rectifies repetitive problems
- Monitors and develops maintenance staff to ensure technical skills are maintained, and transfer of that knowledge is made to local nationals whenever appropriate.
- Develops and establishes a long term business strategy for the organisation based on the overall company vision and strategy and/or its entities
- Assist with estimates of man-hours required to complete projects.
- Manage and implement different projects as assigned.
- Train technical team on the latest systems.
- Drive the performance of his team to minimize breakdown time of equipment.
- Ensure quality all work during the corrective maintenance, breakdown.
- Assist the EMR Manager in setting objectives for subordinated positions.
- The position is expected to constantly strive to improve existing work processes, methods & improve technical efficiency of machinery & equipment.
- Responsible for the effective daily operation of all machinery and equipment.
- Supports the EMR Manager in providing the direction for the maintenance team.
- Supporting the productivity and efficiency standards are met in line with terminal KPI’s.
- Analyses equipment performance statistics and trends in order to identify areas for improvement.
- Supports good communications throughout technical group and their group interactions so that activities are running smoothly on a regular basis.
- Supports technical training for technical department by knowledge sharing and on the job technical learning on the shift.
- Provides reliable service to operations group, ensuring equipment is in a state of readiness, well-maintained, and preventative maintenance and parts availability.
- Works closely with the HSSE team to ensure compliance of all equipment is in a safe working conditions and that all safety devices are in place and fully functional.
- Supports the EMR Manager in providing supervision and direction for the Technical Department.
- Supports the inventory control system to ensure that necessary spare parts are immediately available.
- Controls works carried out by outsourced workshops and service providers.
- Oversees machinery design modification, in order to improve productivity, safety & efficiency.
- Observe provisions of the labour regulations, relevant HSSE policy & procedures, terminal rules & procedures and contribute to the continual improvement process.
- Provide full support to all terminal continuous improvement initiatives including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Supporting Shift Engineers for technical problems.
