Job Title: Senior Cost Analyst

Job Objective

The Senior Cost Analyst will play a vital role in controlling expenses for the company by studying and analysing actual costs. He / She will highlight cost savings opportunities, provide guidance on the allocation of indirect costs across the company, and help management understand the true cost of jobs, services and goods that they sell to assist with pricing.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for creating Cost Accounting framework for all the Business Units, enabling determination of cost per job / product, including direct as well as indirect costs and to support pricing decisions.

• Analyze overhead cost drivers and develop a methodology for allocating these costs to specific jobs / products.
• 
  
• Create and distribute detailed monthly job cost reports to Business Units (BU) which include actual and estimated costs to-date.
• 
  
• Evaluate the key performance results and variances by product line. Evaluate and track overhead spending, material cost, and labour cost. Recommend and develop corrective actions to improve variance.
• 
  
• Responsible for the yearly planning of cost centre activities and expense budgets for all Business Units.
• 
  
• Prepare actual vs. plan (budget) analysis. Prepare various financial analysis related to job / product costs and expense information for various BU as needed for decision making support.
• 
  
• Recommends cost efficiencies in new and existing product and services.
• 
  
• Develop and maintain standard costs of goods and services in ERP system.
• 
  
• Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
• 
  
• Provide support for Cross selling /bundling of services by incorporating costs involved
• 
  
• Perform variance analysis between actual, budget, and historical results
•
