Logistics & Dispatch Supervisor - Qatari Investors Group

Job Purpose:

To plan and coordinate with relevant departments to support the successful dispatch of finished products and company’s fleet management i.e. raw material transportation, bulk/packed cement delivery in accordance with customer requirements, sales plan and relevant departmental requirements in order to support the effective running of processes at the assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and monitor all dispatch and logistics activities in the assigned area(s) of responsibility to ensure that they are handled in line with Logistics & Warehouse policy and procedures.
• Ensure effective operations in accordance with the approved sales plan and raw materials procurement plan.
• Coordinate with relevant department in the event of any discrepancies with regards to credit sales and other related matters.
• Participate in a culture of continuous process improvement.
• Allocate work to team, conduct meetings to ensure effective awareness of client requirements and quality standards in order to ensure optimum customer satisfaction.
• Ensure effective coordination with drivers, relevant department and customers to support timely dispatch and transportation of materials according to the defined delivery plans and targets.
• Ensure that the all required documentations and reports are kept updated in the ERP system.
• Maintain the physical and electronic archives and filing system(s) for the assigned area(s) responsibility.
• Ensure timely resolution of any issues raised at the loading area while escalating complex matters in a timely manner to the superior to support customer satisfaction.
• Partake in the formulation of continuous improvement initiatives, annual business plan and associated budget setting of KPIs for the area(s) of responsibility.
• Track driver’s services to meet on-time requirements and efficiency level.
• Organize and supervise the activities of the drivers and wheel loaders to ensure that all work within the specific area of the activity is carried out effectively and efficiently which is consistent with operating procedures and policies.
• Arrange transportation schedules and ensure effective operations in accordance with the approved logistics and transportation plan.
• Monitor and handle the company’s vehicle administration in coordination with Maintenance Department, ensuring these are maintained in a timely and efficient manner with minimum cost.
• Ensure effective liaison with port authorities to facilitate speedy clearance of material to support production operations.
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
