- Accessibility Services
To coordinate the provision of academic accommodations and other disability-related services to students and applicants
- To act as a consultant for accessibility services with respect to a student’s career, academic, financial, and employability skills.
- To review documentation and consult with students, faculty, staff, parents/advocates, and outside organizations regarding disability-related needs.
- To advise students, faculty, and staff regarding appropriate accommodations and associated rights and responsibility.
- To develop individual program plans for students where necessary and appropriate.
- To increase awareness of Accessibility Services at CNA-Q.
- To refer students to other internal and external professionals and agencies, as required and as appropriate.
- To provide orientation to incoming students including but not limited to the arrangements of Resource Facilitator (RF) services.
- To develop and deliver presentation to the faculty/staff/community partners pertaining to an increase in awareness of Accessibility Services at CNA-Q.
- To assist students and applicants in accessing outside resources and supports for their educational pathways (e.g. MADA, Hamad Medical Corporation).
- To assist with the provision of accommodations for students with disabilities as required.

- Assessment
- To interpret a variety of current formal and informal assessments including but not limited to: psycho-educational, neurological, visual, mental health, hearing, and so on.
- To research and evaluate new trends in assessment.

- To provide a range of assessment services to students and other college clients
- Support Services
- To participate in the planning and delivery of student orientation as it pertains to students with disabilities.
- To support the delivery of students related events as organized by Student Affairs and other departments.
- To support students with disabilities involvement in college-wide committees and activities.
- To liaise with secondary school personnel, community groups, and ministry officials regarding college programs, policies, and services.
- To assist with student recruitment and promotion of college programs and Accessibility Services.
- To participate in college committees, forums, and working groups on campus and outside agencies.
- To make recommendations regarding the improvement of Student Affairs and related operations and policies.
- To review and evaluate student development models for the purpose of enhancing Student Affairs services.
- To assist in the development and implementation of accessibility measures at all levels of the college (online materials, physical building structures, purchasing of equipment, emergency planning, designing of forms and print materials, etc.)

- To provide a supportive role in the planning and implementation and evaluation of college related activities and services
- Consultation
- To consult with college administration, instructors, health-care professionals, community organizations, advocacy groups, public and private agencies, ministry representatives, parents/guardians, and relevant others to develop individualized accommodation plans for students with disabilities, to assist students to access outside resources and to develop various college initiatives, programming and policies.
- To consult with faculty regarding student academic progress and academic accommodations.
- To act as a consultant for faculty, staff, students/applicants, parents/advocates, and other regarding Accessibility Services and other accessibility related topics including accommodations, universal design for learning, community advocacy organizations, state programs, accessibility and human rights.
- To represent the College of the North Atlantic-Qatar and Accessibility Services in particular at a variety of external events and to a variety of external organizations.
- To consult with the Registrar’s Office on special admissions processes.

- To provide consultation as related to disabilities and accessibility services.
- Student/Staff/Faculty Development
- To coordinate, develop, and/or deliver individual/group sessions on topics related to disabilities, best practices for knowledge acquisition for students with disabilities, CNA-Q Accessibility Services, accessibility, and human rights.
- To refer students to internal and external support services that offer student success initiatives, such as organization, time management, stress management, disability awareness, self-advocacy, and adaptive technology.

- To promote the personal and professional growth and development of students, staff, and faculty
- Student Success Programming
- To increased awareness of services to students.
- To support career and employability services.
- To participate in the development, delivery and review of programs and strategies which address student retention.
- To assist faculty and student counsellor in the student advising process.

- To develop and deliver program which promote and enhance student success
- Administrative Duties
- To maintain relevant Accessibility Services resource materials.
- To review and develop documents/forms related to the Accessibility Services Coordinator role (e.g. Test/Exams Accommodations Forms).
- To maintain confidential student files including documentation, consent forms, and accommodation records.
- To maintain statistics regarding Accessibility Services usage.
- To communicate with applicants and in-coming students regarding admissions processes and accessibility services (e.g. documentation requirements) via letters, electronic mail, phone calls, and interviews.
- To review and revise relevant policies and procedural guidelines to ensure they are current and accurately reflect Accessibility Services processes.
- To develop and regularly review and evaluate Accessibility Services with respect of to the Accountability Framework.

- To perform the administrative duties require to effectively deliver services to students and applicants with disabilities
- Student Advocacy
- To advocate regarding issues affecting students and applicants with disabilities.
- To advocate for individual students and applicants as needed, both within the college and with external agencies (e.g. sponsoring companies). This may include writing letters of support to outside agencies with expressed written consent of the student.

- Professional Development
- To engage in professional development activities, both formal and informal.
- To remain current on disability related issues and developments, such as current laws, ministry(s) recommendation, and advocacy group supports and services, best practices at other technical and vocational education and training institutions, assessment and disability identification, and adaptive technology.

- To participate in activities which maintain and enhance the going professional development of the Accessibility Services Coordinator
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Although the Dean of Student Affairs is the direct supervisor of the Resource Facilitator(s), the Accessibility Services Coordinator will guide their work. This may include, but it not limited to providing direction regarding the delivery of academic accommodations and other disability supports, setting priorities, scheduling and reviewing work.
