The Organization:
Our client is an investment group based in Doha, Qatar, operating a portfolio of restaurants and dinning concepts that have been introduced to Qatar spanning the last decade. Their international restaurant/bistro offers all day dining options starting with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Next to that they serve fresh pastries from their own bakery along with coffee and teas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
They are looking to hire an experienced Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries or other sweet goods.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations. The skills in baking high quality treats should be matched by creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes within the US/French/UK pastry cuisine.
• Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, pies, bread following traditional and modern recipes;
• Create new and exciting desserts to renew the menus and engage the interest of customers;
• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings to ensure beautiful and attractive presentation;
• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar and make appropriate orders within budget;
• Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking;
• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work efficiently;
• Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel;
• Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
