- Monitor the daily sold hours and report the workshop groups output compared to target.
- Ensure that the workshop assists & integrates effectively with other departments (Service advisers, PDI, Sales, and Parts).
- Maintain positive morale in the workshop.
- Ensure workshop cleanliness and brand standards are maintained.
- Responsible for correct tooling, calibration & upkeep of equipment.
- Support the group leaders ensuring they have everything required to do their jobs.
- Coordinate with group leaders on preparing a training plan.
- Supports and guides technicians about technical modifications, innovation, measurements, test equipment and tools of BMW automobiles.
- Ensure customers vehicles are repaired in an efficient timely fashion.
- Monitor quality control compliance.
- Monitor technicians’ use of vehicle protective kit.
- Supports the service advisor with customer consultation to discuss identified failures or required repair work.
- Uses checklists/ repair instructions, tools and test equipment adhered to current BMW guidelines.
- Ensure that all time spent on jobs and materials used are accurately recorded on job cards.
- Work carefully to avoid accidental damage to vehicles and components during work activities.
- Seek to minimise wastage of all materials, oils and fluids by careful use and encouraging the careful use by others.
- Care for all plant and tools belonging to the business and not to misuse same. Advise others on the safe and proper use of equipment and correct interpretation of data.
- Ensure that all work undertaken complies with both dealership and manufacturers’ safety standards
