Country Manager, UAE

Air Canada, Star Alliance Member, will launch a three times weekly non- stop air service from Dubai to Toronto in November 2015.
Reports to the Senior Director, International Sales.
Position directs and leads all Air Canada commercial activities in The UAE. The person has responsibility for overseeing all sales and marketing activities in the market, which is handled through a dedicated General Sales Agent. Other Country Manager functions include, acting as the chief representative of Air Canada for all external activities, including government, legal, trade & consumer organizations, holding Air Canada’s power of attorney and responsibility for all aspects of personnel, administration and finance.   
Key functions:
- Provide direction for execution of sales and marketing activities, including revenue generation, development of sales plans, and co-operative General Sales Agent relationships.
- Provide active leadership in the negotiation and maintenance of key commercial agreements.
- Participate in sales calls to key customers.
- Oversee customer service activities
at reservations and sales offices, ensuring that corporate customer service standards are maintained.
- Maintain a close relationship with the Operations team at the airport, ensuring that corporate customer service standards are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with local and national government regulations, taxation laws and labour policies.
- Represent Air Canada at local promotional events and trade organizations, including  Chambers of Commerce and tourism organizations.
- Ensure that corporate safety and security standards and procedures are adhered to in all aspects of the operation.
- Indirectly responsible for administration and accounting departments, with direct responsibility for compliance with local government procedures and filings.
- Responsible for the performance of the online General Sales Agent in the UAE.
- Maintain close working relationships with Atlantic Joint Venture and other Star Alliance partners, including committee structures.
- Serve as principal Air Canada spokesperson in the country.
