Automation Engineer

I:   Major Functions:
ØPrimarily responsible for PLC and SCADA software development.
ØWorking with the Project managers and ensuring that the development of all software is done as per schedule and in accordance with KDD standards.
ØControl all aspects of software development including gathering requirements, making hardware design, making software descriptions, code execution, software acceptance and final execution.
Ø Function as onsite inspector on software development.
Ø Responsible for ensuring project plan is accomplished on time as per quality and cost objectives.
Ø Estimate costs and schedules for the projects.
Ø Develop and maintain all Functional descriptions and maintain detailed software descriptions.
Ø Develop User Requirement Specification for the system.
Ø Determine testing scenarios and oversee the simulation of the control system.
Ø Ensure all software and hardware in KDD is kept up to date.
Ø Assist in development and oversight of process automation / system investment budget.
Ø Successful execution of site automation projects to support strategic goals of site.
Ø Responsible for identification of process automation/ system improvement projects.
Ø Works closely with manufacturing staff in the identification of improvement projects.
Ø Assist with any training required of personnel supporting the project.
Ø Assist with any training required of end users for process automation systems projects.
Ø Provide technical expertise and support for Process Automation projects and systems in support of Manufacturing.
Ø Support both production and project
activities.
Ø Review and approve recommendations
for all process automation /system applications.
Ø Ensure all software and hardware documentation
is kept up to date.
Ø Work with commissioning crew to
complete instrument loop checks.
Ø Work together with operations to commission the process equipment and the new control system.
Provide coverage during equipment startups.
