Accountant

Purpose of the Post
Ensures integrity of accounting data by recording, verifying, consolidating transactions and providing accounting reports
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.
• Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, reconciling entries.
• Summarizes financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
• Produces payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks, verifying finished product.
• Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts, providing information for auditors
• Secures financial information by completing database backups.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Reconciles bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.
• Maintains accounting databases by entering data into the computer; processing backups.
• Determines value of depreciable assets by running depreciation.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
• Prepares accounting reports as required by management such as Account Receivables, Accounts Payables, Banks Liabilities, Cash position and other accounting reports as required.
• Verifies financial reports by running performance analysis
• Comply with policies, guidelines and strategies laid down by the Company to achieve the objectives.
• Implement QHSE Policy
• Ensure effective functioning of all activities in compliance with QHSE procedures
• Responsible for achieving the QHSE objectives in their area
